Disney’s Old Key West Resort in Florida, Lake Buena Vista

Disney’s Old Key West Resort is a 761-room Resort that conjures up the leisurely romance of the Florida Keys. Nestled among swaying palm trees, shimmering waterways and the lush golf fairways of the Lake Buena Vista Golf Course, the Resort’s Guest rooms include studio, one-bedroom, 2-bedroom and 3-bedroom Villas.

The unites are equipped with a full-size kitchen, king-size bed and whirlpool tub in the master suite, queen sleeper sofa in the living area, TV with DVD player, washer/dryer, and a private porch or balcony.

Two bedroom vacation homes offer two queen beds and private bath in the second bedroom; three bedroom homes offer two queen-size beds and private bathroom in each of the additional two bedrooms.

Also available are studio suites equipped with a kitchenette with microwave, mini-refrigerator, wet bar and coffee maker, two queen-size beds, TV, and private porch or balcony. The central building, named the Hospitality House, has 2 restaurants, along with a lounge, store, arcade and more.

For meals, the resort has available Olivia’s Café, a restaurant with simple breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, with a few Key West touches. Also Good’s Food To Go is a counter service restaurant, located near the Hospitality House pool perfect for simple meals. Alternatively, you can try Turtle Shack at the village pool on Old Turtle Pond Road.

Take advantage of the free bus and boat service from Disney’s Old Key West Resort to the Disney theme parks, water parks, and more. You can walk or jog around Disney’s Old Key West Resort on a 1.37-mile trail, complete with views of shimmering waterways and lush green golf fairways.  Also, there’s the possibility of watching Disney movies under the stars at select Walt Disney World Resorts.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas, Jambo House in Florida, Lake Buena Vista

Disney’s BoardWalk Villas in Florida, Lake Buena Vista

Disney Dream, the third Disney Cruise Line, ready for the first voyage

Disney Dream, the third cruise ship of Disney Cruise Line, is getting prepared for its first voyage on 26th of January 2011. On December 19, the ship will head across the Atlantic en route to its Port Canaveral homeport, where it’s expected to arrive on January 4.

The Disney Dream was under construction for over two years at the German shipyard Meyer Werth. The ship boasts 14 towering decks, a length of 1,115 feet (nearly 340 meters) and a maximum width of 125 feet (38 meters). Also, Disney Dream has cabins for 4.000 passengers and almost 1,5000 crew members will be found on the ship every day. The cruiseliner is the largest ever built in Germany and one of the largest cruiseliners in the world.

The Disney Dream is much larger than its two older fleet-mates, the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder, with a design gross tonnage of 128,000 tons, 45,000 tons larger. In length, the ship is 40% larger than both of the other Disney ships. The Dream has 1,250 staterooms and wi-fi can be found throughout.

Built on the classic style of the previous two ships, the last cruise from Disney was especially designed to target families, combining children playgrounds with facilities for teenagers and adult. For example, the AquaDuck is the first water coaster at sea and is as big as four decks and the ship has also three pools.

The Disney Dream has a nine-hole mini-golf course, walking track and digital sports simulators. The simulators can provide game experiences as tennis, basketball, golf or soccer, but a real basketball court can fulfill the desires of the ones not interested in virtual sports. The court can be converted for use as a soccer pitch, volleyball court or foosball/table tennis area.

Disney Dream is the first of two ships to be added to Disney Cruise Line fleet under a contract signed between Meyer Werft and Disney in 2007. The second cruise ship, Disney Fantasy, is scheduled to be launched in April 2012.
