Get Out of Your Timeshare Contract Today. You’ll be Glad You Did.

If you’ve been paying attention you might have noticed that more and more people are trying get out of their timeshare contracts. The money you are spending on your timeshare is essentially money that you’re just throwing away. It is money you are simply losing, and it could be put to better use.

The rocky economic climate has been hard on every one, but what about the resorts? How are they faring during these turbulent times? You might be surprised. Florida alone has seen very little decrease in its tourism, and as we all know it is the timeshare capital of the United States. So how is the economy impacting their timeshare business? The short answer is it isn’t.

You see, Disney (and other resorts) do just fine as far as timeshares go. They get paid whether people take advantage of their accommodations or not. So don’t worry about the resorts. They aren’t worried about you.

If nothing else, the simplest reason to sell your timeshare is for that very fact. There will always be people who can afford to travel to their timeshare property, and the resorts understand this. What matters is that you cannot make ends meet so long as you’re burdened by timeshare ownership.

Consider these reasons to cancel your timeshare contract:

  • Maintenance fees. These are fees you’re paying in order to keep the timeshare in good shape whether you use it or not. And guess what; even though the economy is in the dumps, these maintenance fees are increasing in cost! Do yourself a favor, and stop paying for what you aren’t using.
  • Cost of Travel. We all know how expensive it is to take the whole family on vacation. Even if you’ve already got a paid-for room as a part of your contract, you still have to purchase plane tickets, gas, meals – whatever else. Traveling is expensive, so save your self the cost.
  • Difficult Work Schedules. With many companies letting go of employees left and right, those who still have jobs know how precious they are. Often times the workers left standing have to adopt more work as a result, making out-of-state vacations more of an afterthought.

I am sure the list of reasons can go on and on, but the most important reason is that you’re paying for something you can’t use. So take the money you would spend on this troublesome timeshare, and put it towards getting rid of your timeshare contract today.

Secure Your Home Before Traveling

locks

Hitting the road is a very exhilarating experience. Touring the UK, for instance, is one heck of a ride. You get to see the sights, meet other people, and even get to your dream destination at any time. However, coming home to a nightmare is not at all promising. So before you board that plane, take the time to ask yourself: How secure is my abode?

Crimes are becoming rampant these days. Robberies and theft are just some that can be seen in the top 10 cases in most police records. That is why it is vital for every homeowner to secure their dwelling prior to leaving. Check this helpful tip to ensure the safety of your property.

Hire a House Sitter

Try asking your closest relative or friend to stay in your house while you are away. Having someone actually live there can deter any forms of robbery, and will give you peace of mind while abroad. It is important that you leave your contact details such as your mobile phone number and the hotel you will be staying in. Inform your sitter  also about the date when you will be coming home.

Turn the Lights On

If having a house sitter is not possible, installing a timer for your outdoor lights can really help. You can set to turn them on during nighttime and off during the day. Robbers and thieves will not bother entering a house that looks lived on. So you better be safe than sorry.

Security Cameras and Sensors

Another ideal move that you should do to protect your estate is to invest in good-quality security cameras and sensors. Install them in corners where you can see your entryways so you get to record the action in plain sight. Having sensors on your doors and windows will also warn your neighbours or the police when someone attempts to break them open.

Cancel Newspaper Subscriptions and Mails

One thing that gives thieves the impression that nobody is currently living in your house is the huge pile of newspapers and mails in your doorstep. So, for the duration of your holiday, cancel your subscriptions and tell the agencies that you will resume having them the moment you arrive. Also, you can ask your neighbour to check out your mail from time to time so as not to let them build up in your mailbox. A location as far as the UK will really compel you to stay a bit longer, so make sure to secure everything before you leave.

Have Someone to Visit Your Dwelling

Be it the patrolling security personnel or your trusted neighbours, having someone check your home regularly will ward off robbers who may be lurking outside your property. Giving them a spare key so they can enter your abode and see if your belongings are still there is also a good option. Just make sure that you trust them enough so as not to give you more worries in the end.

Surely, you can avoid problems concerning crimes while you are away if you pick from one of the above-mentioned things. Always remember that taking a trip without any worries at all will ensure you that you will enjoy your holiday and make the most out of it. So, start planning for your trip now, and make sure to protect your house the best way that you can.

Types of travel to Romania, a Country of Contrasts

It takes a while after you travel through Romania to put together all the contrasting images you get and make the complete picture of the country. Go to Bucharest to see what the communism did from a city once considered “The Little Paris”.

Go to Transylvania and see the clean streets, laid back people and its cozy atmosphere, or to Maramures in the north for a glimpse of the bucolic Romanian lifestyle and architecture, and then check the glittering-kitschy resort areas from the sea-side.

Rent a car to drive on the country’s roads and smile at the ironical luxurious Audi or BMW’s furiously overtaking horse-drawn vehicles. If you think Romania can’t offer you some quite spectacular images, you can’t be more wrong. Here are some iconic places in Romania that you can go, depending on what type of a vacation you prefer:

Bucharest – although not a friendly city for living there, Bucharest has its charm for the travelers. The busy, hectic lifestyle is visible everywhere, from traffic jams to people flocking to catch the bus or the tram in the morning.

Romania’s contrasts are the most visible here: you can walk on its large boulevards and see the communist buildings, from blocks of flats to the Romanian huge Parliament and then find places where you can admire French palaces, medieval churches or elegant old houses.

The office buildings are of course present and you can even find some in the capital’s old center – a place with beautiful old buildings, some of them left in ruin, but others transformed into bars, clubs or shops. The old center is also where the people from this city full of students usually cram for a beer or dancing.

Danube Delta – an impressive UNESCO World Heritage site. The mighty Danube River flows 1,788 miles from its springs in Germany’s Black Forest to the Black Sea. Just before reaching the sea it forms the second largest and best preserved of Europe’s deltas: 2,200 square miles of rivers, canals, marshes, tree-fringed lakes and reed islands. The Danube Delta is home to over 320 species of birds. Some are strictly protected and cannot be seen elsewhere except the Danube Delta.

Transylvania – Bounded on the east and south by the Carpathian Mountains, Transylvania, or Ardeal in Romanian, is a completely different region than other Romanian places. For many centuries it belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary and there is still an ongoing scholarly debate over the ethnicity of Transylvania’s population.

Best places to see in Transylvania are the cities of Brasov, Sibiu and Sighisoara, the last being also the place where Vlad Tepes (Vlad the Impaler) – the ruler that inspired the creation of the Dracula character – was born.

If you go more to the west, don’t miss Timisoara, one of the country’s most developed and multicultural cities, comprising strong Hungarian, German and Serbian minorities.

Maramures – a region that has remained unchanged in decades, Maramures is probably the last place in Europe where you can go back 100 years and feel the true lifestyle of villages.

Small villages are found between clean hills and landscapes that we’ll leave you breathless. Visit the wooden churches, listen to the traditional music and enjoy their festivals and beautiful costumes that villagers still proudly wear.

Advantage of Family Vacations

Are you on a family vacation? Going for a tour with family and loved ones make the trip more enjoyable.

The best part is that you do not miss your loved ones in memorable moments as they are sharing all the fun with you!

Generally you do not get enough time to spend with your family even if you live with them. Morning breakfast is usually hasty and most of the children and working people take lunch outside their home.

It is only at dinner, when you say hello to your parents. Those people who work in shifts do not get time to see each other even in the night. So a family vacation is the best time to pamper yourself with the family love!

Since all family members are together, you can share those moments you have been missing to spend together. Have fun and talk heart to heart. Feel the joy of laughing together and seeing each other’s happy face which you always crave for.

Since all of you are in relaxed mood there will be least tension and frictions among all family members. Even if there is any scope of conflict, leave it behind at home. You have come on a vacation to enjoy together so take full advantage of that. Moreover the warmth of love and enjoyment will melt all the glaciers of conflicts too!

Pamper each other with love and care. Since you are free from usual responsibilities of life while on a vacation, show your responsibilities towards relations now. Express your love for your wife or husband, parents, children, brothers and sisters and friends.

Tell them how much you miss them and need them always. The vacations provide a great opportunity to revive emotional bonds and strengthen relationships.

Take advantage of being together for longer time. On a vacation parents get plenty of time to spend with their children. Try to understand your children and their needs. You will observe that children too become attentive to what you say, if you show your concern to them.

Moscow by Winter…Don’t Let the Bad Weather Disappoint You

Ok, so the Russian winter is not too friendly. It snows constantly, the gray colorless skies might make you feel you got to the land of depressed people and the temperatures drop to -8 degrees Celsius. But traveling in Moscow during winter is indeed a true unique experience and there are all the time things to do and see.

Russians enjoy the winter and try to make it as fun and festive as possible, and you will still be able to enjoy this city of superlatives. The Third Rome, Whitestone, The First Throne or The Forty Forties, you can name it however you like, the city will still remain astonishing.

The Russian capital city is practically bursting out with energy – former factories and warehouses transformed into art galleries or underground clubs. You will find Moscow’s nightlife completely alive, having a wide range of options, from expensive nightclubs to underground bars and laid-back cafes.

But it’s winter and you are in one of the most representative places for this season, right? So then go ice-skating – you’ll find ice rinks in almost all Moscow’s parks – and enjoy the snowman parades. Also, don’t forget the country is famous for ice sculpting. You can see ice sculptures at various venues and they also make part of the winter festival in Moscow.

Go on a walk during the evening and take some pictures or just watch the New Year’s Trees. As Russian Orthodox Christmas is celebrated on the 7th of January, Russians light up their trees celebrating the New Year to come and most of them disappear till Christmas.

You will find the trees in the main Moscow’s squares, the Red Square or Kremlin’s Cathedral Square. The Russian capital enjoys a high number of celebrations and festivities and most sure a festival will take place while you are visiting during winter.

The Russian Winter Festival in Moscow takes place in the last week of December and the first week of January and you will find it in Izmailovo Park, where you can enjoy troika rides and listen to live folk music.

December Nights Festival takes place in the second half of December and first half of January, when many classical music performances are held in different places. The Channel Islands, a Different Type of Islands Vacation

If you are thinking that islands vacations means only Caribbean or tropical places, you can’t be more wrong. Britain actually has some nice places where you can enjoy a holiday and the many islands around England, Wales and Scotland are for sure worth visiting.

The Channel Islands are Britain’s most southerly group of islands and consist of Jersey and Guernsey bailiwicks. Neither of them are part of the United Kingdom and they are two separate self-governing bailiwicks. Both the Bailiwick of Guernsey and the Bailiwick of Jersey are British Crown Dependencies.

St Peter Port is Guernsey’s capital and is well known for being a lively harbor town. A must visit is the famous French poet Victor Hugo’s house and gardens. Known for its seafood, its beautiful beaches, cliffs and its yacht harbors, Guernsey, at 24 square miles, is the second largest of the British Channel Islands.

Jersey is the biggest Channel Island, situated just 14 miles from France. The island is a popular holiday destination for its mild climate, long beaches and rugged cliffs, good for walking and cycling.

Guernsey contains also other small islands and two separate jurisdictions. If you go on Alderney Island, you’ll find an unspoiled place only three and half miles wide, but with its own government, airport and port. During the German occupation in World War II, the island was evacuated and Germans used it to transport thousands of workers of many nations to build military fortifications. The workers were treated with great cruelty and brutality and the number of the ones who perished either on the island’s concentration camps or on the mainland after they left Alderney is not known. The fortifications, sobering on all the islands, have a particular resonance here.

Sark is the smallest of the four main Channel Islands. It has a population of just 550 and is a traffic free place. The only engines here are attached to tractors and this is how the ambulance service is also functioning. It was the last feudal state of Europe until 2006 when legislators voted to allow all of Sark’s residents to vote. The island is unique and you will be struck by that when you will see that road signs measure distances in minutes to walk, and not miles.

Herm is a small islet you can reach only in 20 minutes by a boat trip from Guernsey. White beaches and car free, the island doesn’t allow not even bicycles. The island is operated, under lease, by the same family since 1949.

The Exquisite Lakes of North Italy

The lakes of North Italy have few equals anywhere in the world. Lakes Como, Maggiore and Garda offer a piece of sheer beauty, with 18th and 19th century numerous villas lying on their shores, exotic gardens and small, calm and intimate villages or elegant towns. The lakes of the North, at the foot of the majestically mountain chain of the Alps, are mainly of glacial origin.

(Lake of Como) is for sure the most spectacular one. Its shape is the form of the Y letter, reason for which it is called “the star with three points” and along its shore you will see the impressive elegant villas and astonishing gardens.

Don’t miss the chance to visit also the exquisite Bellagio, a small village with cobbled streets and wonderful views on the lake. Since the Renaissance this area has been a famous holidays destination, especially for poets, writers and philosophers.

Lago Maggiore is situated between Lombardy, Piedmont and Switzerland.  Its western shore is in Piedmont, its eastern shore in Lombardy and in the north it enters the Swiss canton of Ticino. The lake has a mild climate that favors the Mediterranean and exotic plants.

The western shore is undoubtedly livelier, with more activities. It is the second largest lake in Italy, after the Garda Lake and a relict of the wealthy patrimony that was lead by the Borromeo family.

Lago di Garda is the largest Italian lake and the views change completely from the south to the north, where is entirely closed in by mountains.

It is famous for its Mediterranean climate, its blue waters, its attractive villas and gardens, the variety of the colorful landscape. The lake is surrounded by small towns and is a favorite tourist destination for the sport activities it offers.
